I saw your reddit post and provided a detailed response. Which you ignored. Seeing this vid I think you could have posted a question with a narrower scope. I responded to tutorials (which mostly suck), gear reviews (which mostly are sponsored advertising) and cool stuff which actually provides interesting history and useful info.

r/ guitars is actually one of the better behaved subreddits. There's a lot of "identify this guitar" posts but people are mostly positive and helpful. all the circlejerk subreddits are supposed to be outrageous and silly, don't take them seriously.

I suspect you don't understand r/guitarcirclejerk... It's people lampooning guitar culture. 99% of what's posted there is a joke. Misspelling things is a requirement in that sub. If you're taking responses there seriously, you're missing the point of the sub.

My Tele is one of my favorites. I was inspired by the movie Crossroads which is why mine is cream colored.

I think it has to do with human nature and social media. When people perceive themselves as part of a community they take on the values of that community and get a sense of meaningfulness by acting out those values and growing in the esteem of their community members. When you are a member of a subreddit, and a prominent point of view develops among the members, it is psychologically easy and rewarding to shift your view in that direction and join the crowd. Combine this with the fact that anger gets more clicks so in the context of reddit in particular these social dynamics tend to express themselves in more negative ways.

My biggest issue with RUclips guitar players and RUclips guitar videos in general, is that you still have no idea how anything really sounds. Everything is close mic’ed 🎤 🎙️ , and over produced. If I want to know how something sounds in a room I should be able to open up RUclips and have thousands of videos of guys just playing the amp And Guitar. But everything is over produced through some program on the computer, with 2 or more mic’s and several pedals. We need videos of how amps actually sounds in a room setting without being mic’ed, and Guitars being played without pedals. Otherwise…. It’s a pointless commercial video. Just my opinion.🤷🏻‍♂️

I was a full time bass player for over 30 years, having played many styles. Other than the blues and country applications, I've always HATED the single coil sound of Strats. WAY too thin sounding for my taste. On the other hand, I heard a couple of Strats over the years with a humbucker pickup, and wow! Some of the best sounding guitars I've heard!

I watch lots of guitar channels, though not any specific one. I do love Ola's "Will It Chug?" series, as that's my main concern most of the time. Metal rhythm guitarist here, lol. I do have some tiny peeves with a few shows, like Rhett. I live in same city as him, and probably go many of the same places, but in his videos, I'm often thinking "play something damnit!" Just an endless cycle of couple plucks, then pig squealing. It's just his style, and I spread nothing. :) Bald Shredder is another one I watch, and he gets in a lot of stuff I would or have, bought/had interest in. He can be "too positive" on things, but nothing to cry over. 60cycle hum is another one I watch alot, as I prefer to buy "junk" guitars and set up to suit me, and have limited space and budget. I've even watched a few of yours recently, as you had some vids of a guitar I ended up buying similar to, Epiphone SG Special. I wanted to get one "off the shelf" guitar, just once. :D

If your honest about what your doing. It shouldn't matter what others think or say. If your in your lane, and don't comment or post about stuff your not really knowledgeable on. It's a gravy train. It's working just the way it's meant to. The righteous and strong will survive. While the weak and squid like individuals, will inevitably perish. This is just another form of natural selection in the kingdom of the insane. If your staying true to yourself, and aren't worried about making mistakes or being constantly "right" or "correct" about every damn thing. It's much easier to grow and learn. It's the assholes, that always wanna stir the pot, and try'n get people to pick a side of an argument. That makes it a bitch for everyone else. Nobody can ever be wrong. I'm wrong all the damn time. So what. Doesn't make me any less of a man, or stupid. On the contrary, it's what separates the men from the toy boys. Toy boys are out there trying to defend the stupid purchases they've made. Or more accurately, their spouses made. That's where all respect for what they say goes out the window. If your spending someone else's money. I'm not paying attention anymore. Your just another talking head.

I stick to forums that I can only access through CompuServe on my Commodore 64. People are less likely to complain when doing it through a 300 baud modem.

Can you do the same thing, but ask the question: "Why do we have so many overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedals? And why do we have a new one every month?"

Didn't realize hate was such an issue here. Most of the community are here outta love of some aspect of it, e.e. music, writing, gear, learning, meeting like minded peeps, etc. I think as a creator of the content (lol) you see more of the negative then us "normies". If that makes sense. HAHA! It's probably a lil more personal to RUclipsrs and they tend to dwell on the "not so good" parts more than us consumers. Much love from this music guy to all of you!!! Remember, you're only as good or as bad at playing music as to how much fun you have while playing it.

Everyone is chasing the algorithm for those who do this as a business. The algorithm seems to like to promote all the same type of content, and it gets old after a while. What do you do? How many videos have the same type of title and thumbnail? It's the nature of the beast I guess.

For me it's not hate as much as I get tired of so much uber gear played on top shelf equipment. Some of us work crap jobs.

Mike Cole's viewers or at least comment sections seem to be turning on him. I don't mind his stories. But he kind of presents himself as a gear reviewer when he's more a gear... Shower.

Telecasters and Jazzmasters are hands down, my favorite guitars.

I feel like money is part of the problem since that's the only reason why some videos are made, rather than making it out of passion. There are the channels that clickbait and hype of products beyond their value, others channels have an overly, almost like faux-sophistication feel to them on very subjective topics. Both styles of channels come off as a bit deceiving to me and they are just there to waste your money and your time so they can collect that ad money/sponsorship/etc, which understandably leaves a sour taste. There are still good channels out there, but they tend to handle things a lot more objectively and don't try to convince you "how good something is and why you need it"

not only is it annoying for creators not to disclose their sponsorships/partnerships, it's also illegal.

These same people will decry capitolism too, right after complaining about watching videos about new gear on their new iPhone. LOL
